Everything you need to know about Monsun Beauty products

About Our Products

What is qasil and where does it come from?

Qasil is a fine powder made from the dried leaves of the Ziziphus mauritiana tree, which grows across East Africa and the Middle East. Somali women have used it as a natural cleanser, face mask, and skin treatment for over 1,000 years. It contains natural saponins that cleanse without harsh chemicals. Read our full guide to qasil.

Are all your products organic?

Every Monsun Beauty product is cruelty-free, non-toxic, and made from naturally derived ingredients — no synthetic fillers, parabens or sulfates. Most are 100% plant-based; a few (like our Turmeric & Honey line) contain raw honey, which is always listed on the label.

Will turmeric stain my skin?

Turmeric can temporarily leave a faint yellow tint on lighter skin tones. This fades completely within 30-60 minutes and washes off easily. Darker skin tones typically don't notice any staining. It's the curcumin at work — not a side effect, just a sign the active ingredient is present. Learn more about how curcumin works.

How long does an 8oz jar of powder last?

With regular use (2-3 masks per week), an 8oz jar typically lasts 4-5 weeks. If you use it once a week, expect 8-10 weeks. Our 3-month supply bundles are the most cost-effective option for regular users.

What's the difference between qasil and red clay masks?

Qasil is a gentle, soap-free cleanser that works for all skin types — it detoxifies and promotes a natural glow. Moroccan red clay is a mineral-rich deep cleanser that's best for oily or congested skin — it absorbs excess oil and tightens pores. Many customers alternate both for the best results. Read our full comparison guide.

Can I use your products on sensitive skin?

Most of our products are gentle enough for sensitive skin. Qasil powder and matcha products are the gentlest options. For turmeric products, we recommend starting with a small patch test — turmeric is an active ingredient and some very sensitive skin may react. Our skin quiz can help you find the right products for your skin type.

What's the best routine for a beginner?

Start with our Qasil Starter Kit — it includes the mask powder and mixing tools. Use it 2x per week. Once you're comfortable, add a daily cleanser and cream (our matcha or turmeric lines). Take our skin quiz for a personalized recommendation.

Ingredients & Safety

Are your products vegan?

Yes. All Monsun Beauty products are 100% vegan — no animal-derived ingredients and never tested on animals.

Can I use your products while pregnant?

Our products use simple, plant-based ingredients without retinoids, salicylic acid, or other ingredients typically flagged during pregnancy. However, we always recommend consulting your healthcare provider before starting any new skincare routine during pregnancy.

What does "cold-pressed" mean for your oils?

Cold-pressed means the oil was extracted mechanically without heat or chemical solvents. This preserves the full potency of vitamins, fatty acids, and active compounds. Heat processing (used by cheaper brands) degrades these beneficial components.
